Mahejor
800 years before the thought of Treltain, a wizard ad his friend were looking for a new lad to start a village. they found a tiny settlement riddled by attacks from creatures. the folk were simple and did know of a wizard, and thought of him as a god. the wizard's friend promoted him and also showed the people how to take up arms. they began to look at Tantius as a king, a noble warrior king. the wizard, Nolwiss, defened against supernautral and magical threats from nature and the creatures living there. little did they know that the founders fo the settlement gave their lives to let the humans live there, and exist with the wild earth peacefully. the forest was the first to become angered witht the settlemets choice of leaders. Tantius had the people chop down trees and destory their old huts the earth provided them. they built small quaint houses but Tantius became greedy and built a large house, fit for a king. as the creatures could escape, the forest could not, so the forest retalliated, first by small anoyances, then progressing to violet attacks from limbs and roots. the wizard tricked the earth into having the trees stop retaliating. this worked for a bit. the people grew but were slow learners, and this discouraged Tantius. Nolwiss began to study necromancing and devised a spell to keep them alive, but it required a young adult sacrifice, making his/her blood their own. having this Tantius trained a small group of villages as scouts. the village was growing thanks to Tantius and the new dwellings they were able to live in. The scout group also grew in size and began to form a small milita. some of the villagers began to venture out to start other villages in the name of Tantius and Nolwiss. once the village, Mahejor, was up to a considerable size, the villagers began to dig to gain better resources to build with. Nolwiss recognized a crystal that the miners were digging up. the crystal allowed Nolwiss to create, and use stronger magic than he already had. the wizard became greedy and instructed the people to dig deeper, but the earth bega to push them back to the surface. to answer the earth, Nolwiss had more people from the village dig. the earth kept pushing them as they dug. eventually, the earth had the trees uproot and attack the village. the villagers and Nolwiss repelled the attack from the trees and other villagers fled underground. the people who had gone underground to hide were integrated into the mining system. the ground kept pushing up, and the village rose. while the village was slowly rising, the army and the wizard cut and burned the remains of the uprooted trees, making a 400m barrier of bar lad, covered in stumps. the king had the army build guard towers around the village. the trees stopped attacking to build their strength and also to let the earth attempt to drive the villagers out. the villagers were trained to be persistant and over the millenia they almost remember nothing of life before minig or fighting. the village was almost 150meters high, the miners created doors in the bottom of the base of the village. these soon became obsolete as the earth kept pushing, and the village rose even more, risig nearly 800meters in height. the wizard cast multiple spells on the stumps and the side of the rising village. these would keep any vegitation from growing unless the wizard allowed it. through the mining millenia, the king had scouts travel out and discover new lands, and civilizations. some scouts abandoned their travels, and ran away, others never came back alive. those that did come back came back with maginificent stories of grand land scapes and the sea. the village grew to stad at 1.2kilometers high and other villages could see it on the horizon. these other villages no longer modeled themselves after Mahejor, but claimed to be under rule by it. these other villages and outposts took on characteristics from their surroundings changing the inhabbitants. the military outposts were forgotten as Nolwiss and Tantius became overwhelmed by their growing citadel. these posts soon harbored regular citizens, not just military personel. as the Mahejor Citadel grew, the Mahejor citizens delve deeper and faster than the earth could push them back up. the miners soon stumbled accross an underground river and a hole of darkness. from this hole came monsters, demons, and other unspeakable things emerged. the king called what troops he had in the towers and the village to defend the miners. the wizard endowed them with special weapons and armor to fight off the demonic threats. desperate not to let the demons out and desperate to win, the citadel was closed off and no one could leave, but those who entered were inducted into the mining guilds or the army. soon the people were so intermixed, they became weak but some new blood would come in from the outside and rekindle the the miners and soldiers. on the top where the village was, the intermixig was unfixable. thise led to complications with the spell, the king and the wizard began to age. today they know nothing of the outside world, and crave fresh blood.
